I think Sprint Burst is one of the best designed perks in the game. It's trivial to get SOME value from just passively in the form of pre-running and being able to be a little more aggressive on unsafe gens due to no pallets/vaults nearby or chase nearby, but once you start paying close attention to timings and such, being able to 99 it and use it freely in chase or to get a save or whatever? That's HARD but where the money is. It's a lot like Self-Care. I will die on the hill that it's actually still a decent perk (and is still in the meta in other regions) as you can disappear to a corner with a completed gen and heal in peace. Yeah, it can take forever when Mangled is in play, but it's just one person taking the time while the other can get back on a gen, and you have very low risk of being interrupted and losing all that progress. But that's not how most people use either perk.

That said, the difficulty, finickiness of doing that, and existence of Fearmonger as a meta perk keep it in check. If there was a perk that was Fearmonger on command for survivors, like 'Hold your breath for 3 seconds and get Exhaustion for 3 seconds," the ease of 99ing it would skyrocket and it'd suddenly become the bane of killers everywhere.

Self care would be terrible in matches I am in. The survivor teams I am part of lose health states much, much faster than one per 45 seconds; if I were to try self caring ever, I guarantee either a healthy survivor would be on hook or one injured survivor would be on hook and another in chase or downed before the heal finished.

Edit: also, I would estimate my matches are like 75% Sloppy Butcher (or the add on equivalent), 20% insta down, so Self Care is even worse than that

This is that Supermassive (Until Dawn, The Quarry, etc) spinoff game announced at anniversary, but presumably will be also be a chapter with killer and survivors around the time of its release. Looks like a new map too by the screenshots with gens and sh*t in them, or they're really committing to the bit.

TIL Victor's bugged and can't currently jump over anything at all. Not short walls. Not through windows. Not over pallets. Not empty space. If you try to jump off a high place, ANY high place, you hit an invisible wall as soon as there's nothing under you.

Remember how they changed it so that chain hunt chains no longer interrupt the box being solved? That's not really actually how it works. What happens is that while you're solving the box, the chain hunt portals will still open, but not shoot chains. If you stop solving it partway, or Pinhead teleports to you, all of those open portals fire at once, instantly full chaining you and making it basically impossible to move anywhere. So you still absolutely need to wait for the gap between waves, or you're just getting hit/instant dropping a god pallet you're camping. It's also a buff to any of the obnoxious eternal chainhunt builds, and the already OP Iri that injures, as that does interrupt, and will instantly chain you with multiple chains from the hunt as opposed to the usual 2 limit that Iri is meant to have.

      E:
Man, I haven't played much the last week, but I swear that I have personally as far as my own performance goes (ie awful teammates not withstanding), not had a single bad game against Chucky. I don't even really know what it is that is clicking with me against him, or if I've just gotten persistently lucky, but it feels so damn easy to juke his dash and being a 110 killer, abandoning a loop to go to the next one the second he starts trying to mindgame always feels so much safer than every other regular killer. Not that I never go down against one, but my first game today I ran one at the start for two and a half gens despite Corrupt and then got away cleanly after being camped and was apparently enough of a pain in the ass for him to give up on me the rest of the match. It feels so satisfying.

All non-licensed DLC up to and including Mikaela Reid, are going to be turned into three DLC bundles of four chapters each. If bought while not owning any of the content, these bundles are a good price drop. In addition to this, on Jan 8th they will also permanently reduce the price of these characters to 225 Cells or 4500 Shards each.

The individual DLCs will go on sale one last time for the holidays, and then no longer be purchasable individually on the 8th. This doesn't affect anyone who currently owns any of these affected DLCs. Pricing is not consistent across platforms due to consoles getting some of these chapters for free.

Survivors use RPD offering and nothing else.

Okay, a little suspect, but I'm on Dredge, and besides the sh*t-ass lockers there, otherwise generally good for me.

      Boon, second boon, third boon.

Oh, I'm not seeing scratches. Welp. It's 60 seconds in and it's already clear what kind of game this is going to be.

Two people with all four boon perks. A third with Detective's Hunch instead of Exponential and a map with a bead. The fourth had a more normal general build, but brought the RPD offering, sooooo...

Somebody was going to have an unpleasant game, and I'm pretty sure that it was all five of us. Thank god I was running Sloppy and Malthinkers and was able to basically perpetually keep them in Nightfall to use that to track them. That's enough of that for the day.

I’ve been playing more dredge with:

      Nemesis
      Furtive Chase
      Friends Til the End
      Lethal Pursuer/Maybe a generator perk.

I swap that fourth one out.

Works better on some maps than others, as it is with Dredge.

But Ive had three matches where all four survivors were hooked at the same time.

      When it works, it’s brutal.

Other players in my games are folding super hard to Friends Til the End. Just like I predicted from first reading the perk description. Even when I got the obsession roulette early in the game so I'm tanking the aura reveal and exposed, somehow my teammates were dying hard enough that I was almost constantly exposed. It's rough in my MMR bracket :x

They're doing an AMA on Reddit right now, and as usual, 90% of the responses are the standard "Thank you for your interest. We're aware of that, but can't share any details now."

The only two things of marginal note I've seen are that the 3-gen 'solution' is changing kicking in some way, so likely just disabling kicking in some way at some point instead of, you know, a systematic fix.

And that they believe that the difference between solo queue and SWF is not an information or communication issue, but that solo queue players are inherently selfish and SWFs aren't, so there's no further plans to do sh*t to help solo queue. Even Otz is like... "My dudes. They don't help each other because they don't have the same information. What the f*ck is this response."
      https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2003158104?t=01h44m20s

Also, love the response to "Are you planning to do anything about people using bodyblocking to hold the game hostage/grief?" was "No. Not something we're working on at all." Of all the questions to answer, and say something substantive about, you chose to highlight that you're ignoring griefing.

Disabling kicking does nothing to resolve a bad three gen unless you are walking around with Eruption/Oppression or something. I mean, there’s pop but part of the problem with three gen is that it’s players getting evasive and the killer just patrols the gens so hooks only happen if the survivors get bored enough first to make mistakes. At which point the game is likely over anyways. And yes, Pop is popular, but designing core game mechanics around a perk is just backwards design. Like, preventing gens from spawning within X meters should be the no-brainer first thing to do.

The SWF take is just, direly out of touch.

They also responded to Otz's question about new general perks for core mechanics.

Their response is also just... godawful.

This is something we were just discussing in a Live Design meeting yesterday! Right now we have no immediate plans to introduce new General Perks, new killers are also up against new survivors so gen regression perks are not necessarily needed at this level when players are learning to play the game, and the base character perks reflect this.

New killers and survivors don't need core perks.

      That's... oof.

E: Just saw his response to their response. You can hear the depression in his voice.

On this note, it strikes me that they could adapt the MOBA model. Just make 1-2 killers free to all every week, along with like 4 killer and survivor perks, selected as an actual build or to cover at least regression, info, etc.

I suspect the issue that they're concerned about is he's too feast or famine. Either you're ahead of the EMP rate and just shredding people, or you're behind it and you're a powerless chump. And they're seeing more of the latter than the former. Though I wouldn't be opposed to something that makes the 1v1 endgame against him a little less stupid either, but that's definitely not an issue unique to him. He's just literally the best at it.

Maps do need a pass for collision issues with his pods. Hawkins especially is just a f*cking disaster where you can't place pods on tons of walls because...???? But that's not a him issue either really.

I think the two improvements I'd make are A.) make his cameras auto-lock to nearby survivors when switching to them. Or at least highlight them so that you're not disoriented as f*ck or like me, constantly trying to pod yourself because that's the big humanoid target. And B.) Some kind of aim dressing for the really narrow structures and sh*t that are super finicky to get pods put on.

I think Larry (singularity) should have like one more case, and increase the automatic printing time even more to compensate. Just so there's slightly better coverage of boxes around the map.

I find it a bit frustrating as a survivor that if I have an EMP in hand, Larry can tag me twice from the same camera faster than I can charge and fire my EMP. Seems like the reload speed before taking the second shot should be just a little bit slower.

The most frustrating Larrys though are the ones that run STBFL, Rapid Brutality, and (usually) the addon that speeds him up after teleport. Absurdly quick double taps, absolutely murders survivors in my games whether they have a pallet around our not.

I hadn't even seen the response about survivors killing themselves on first hook being just something we're all going to have to live with and no plans to do anything about. Even after a day and sleeping on it, he still seems just wiped out by their responses. I think the streak stuff has done him in. Caught a few recently, and almost always screaming rage about stuff that when he's discussing it outside has a much more laissez faire "if we're saying it's okay to have Alch-Blight, 3-blink Nurse, Iri Hatchet Huntress for 4+ years, then what's the problem with syringes/styptics?"

      E:
Wraith can both pick up and throw snowballs while cloaked. This is important. I wish I had realized it sooner, but they were a sabo/boil over SWF so the first couple hooks with my anti-heal giant TR Wraith build were... a headache.

If you’re getting double tapped that fast it’s because he can swap between an EMP’d pod and an active one and that resets the camera cooldown.

Which is one thing they could fix.

Finally ran into my first Scamper Chucky, running Enduring/Hubris (Pain Res/Jolt), and it was every bit as stupid and impossible to deal with as one would expect on Nostromo where there are no usable windows at all. Drop pallet, he just Scampers it and hits you. Get the stun? Now you go down immediately instead unless you had Smash Hit or a 99'ed SB. Not sure he ever once used his dash to attack. All I can think is that you need to run to/find a window loop and just stay there because everywhere else is just a brainless unavoidable hit, or just immediately run to corners. It was extremely stupid. Like, make Scamper only usable during his dash (like Wesker), but halve the CD or something.

FYI, be a little careful playing any killer who generates interactable sh*t on the map (ie Alien, Plague, Pig, Sadako, etc). The winter event snowpiles apparently use the same spawning logic and pre-empt killer objects, so the killer stuff can end up spawning really weirdly, especially grouped up together.

Also, there's a massive Knight bug that's pushing them into Twins territory for who can be the most bugged. You can reset his power at will, even before the previous guard despawns. You can get like three guards all in one spot and have people be chased by the entire f*cking company at once. How to do this? Vault.

Also, Plaything's bugged and the aura reveal doesn't work.

But remember, BHVR says they don't need a health update.

      E:
Just in case you thought Twins couldn't be any more bugged, snowballs have collision with Victor. If he pounces, and you hit him with a snowball, it not only stops him, but the snowball freezes in midair and creates a solid object that he can't move through.

It's funny because it was a thing going around with streamers the last week or two highlighting how buggy his guards are in chase. If you tap a pallet or window while they're chasing you, not even vault or drop it, they are hard set to go tap the pallet/window too. So you could even go up on the cranes in the junkyard maps, tap the window, and then run back past them while they ignore you to go touch the window too.

And the actual utility of being able to summon multiple guards at a window is so limited. I mean, maybe it was also crashing games too (but didn't see any of that with the people showing the bug), I guess? He's had that bug where his bubble or whatever never gets deleted since his release, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were memory leaks around him. It's interesting that the system/mechanics are at least robust enough to spawn multiple guards at once though. That's something I wouldn't have been surprised if it broke entirely. I doubt that he'll be coming back in an actually fixed state though. His power implementation very clearly shares code with Spirit and they're just not accounting for even core network tiny desync stuff at all.

Every Killer: "And I took that personally."

Three games in a row against a Trickster, Oni, and Chucky where I got zero progress on this dropping pallets in chase challenge because they literally all refused to chase me at all, even when I was being aggressive and cheeky late in the game. Like, I feel bad for ya, my teammates, but if the killer refuses to literally ever set foot on 50% of the map, I don't know what I can do to pull aggro. It amazes me that people don't run SB more.
