I was wondering if I can make this in my pressure cooker? What changes I might need to make?

How much is a bunch of kale? My grocery sells it in different sized bags. Also, I cooked on high for 6 hours and the potatoes are still not soft. I will not make again.

Indeed delicious. I modified it a bit using beef sausage (the Kirkland brand foot longs you get at Costso), no bacon (I don't eat pork) and Berbere (an ethiopian spice) in place of the cayenne (I didn't have any). I also used the chicken base paste mixed with water instead of the broth. Also, like Margarets review (Mar 1, 2016), I like kale also, so I put more in. I was a bit disappointed though that the russets didn't hold up well to the point of disintegration (perhaps because I didn't slow cook them but rather cooked them in a large pot at a faster [hotter] pace), so next time I will use red potatoes.

Ground sausage is what I use. And then just use a spatula to chop it into smaller pieces as it cooks.

This was the easiest, most delicious soup/stew. I cooked it in my French pot in the oven for 2 hours and it came out perfect. I did add celery and parsnips...and extra kale at the end. Scrumptious. This will be added as a regular.

How did it come out? I didn't put the cream in yet, but I did add the kale this morning. Won't be ready for a few more hours. I'm so worried I totally ruined it.

Next time I make this, it'll be soon, I'm going to make the potato cuts smaller, and only add half an onion. I had a mishap with the red pepper (dropped it in the crock pot, got way too much in the soup). The bigest crock pot I have only works on LOW so I started it early. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way through (after 7 hrs on LOW) so I'll be slightly cooking them before I make this again also.

I can't complain though, this is my favorite soup. If you are having sinus problems this will probably clear it right up, hahaha. My preference is to peel apart bread sticks in bite size pieces and mix it in the soup.

I have a question for people. If you have a mishap like myself, how would you reduce the heat from red pepper? Mix more cream? T.I.A! THIS SOUP IS THE BEST!

How did it turn out? The cream and kale shouldn't cook that long, it will overcook. The cream would probably scorch or curdle b/c it's dairy.....

We made thislast night, it was so amazing! The smell was lovely in our home while it cooked.I cooked it on high in the slow cooker. I would put in a half onion next time, just because itseemed like a lot. And I felt like the quantity ofgarlic could increase, but we're like that with everything. To serve, we dipped freshly baked French bread into the soup. Can't wait to make it again. Thanks!
