Why Google Earth Isn't Real-Time. The truth is, Google Earth's images are outdated by months, if not years. These images undergo intensive processing, caching, and various updates before they land on your screen. Therefore, expecting a real-time view is setting yourself up for disappointment.

Google Earth is a computer program that renders a 3D representation of Earth based primarily on satellite imagery. The program maps the Earth by superimposing satellite images, aerial photography, and GIS data onto a 3D globe, allowing users to see cities and landscapes from various angles.

As of May 2024, with current publicly available commercial satellite technology, you cannot access a real-time view of your house. Orbiting satellites capturing images of Earth do not constantly transmit data. They capture images periodically, and it takes time to process and deliver those images.

The quickest way: Go to Instant Street View or ShowMyStreet and enter a location's name or address. Or, go to Google Maps, enter an address, and select the Pegman to bring up Street View imagery. On mobile devices, try the Google Street View app for iOS or Android.

No option for nonprogrammer or GUI. Google Earth Engine is not a proper fit for many projects. Due to framework limitations, creating sophisticated applications in the GEE framework can be quite challenging. For example, the parallel programming framework chosen by GEE is based on maps and reduced operations.
