This easy recipe makes gourmet burgers at home. A pizza burger is basically your favorite cheeseburger with pizza toppings. And it’s low-carb!
Pizza Burger
Imagine if you combined a pizza with a burger. Well, that’s exactly what I did in this delicious burger recipe!
The cheeseburger and bun are the same as normal, but I topped it with some of my favorite pizza toppings instead of lettuce and pickles. And instead of ketchup, I used sugar-free pizza sauce.
This burger tastes like a specialty one you’d find at a steakhouse or sports bar. Keep reading and I’ll share how to make it in the air fryer, other toppings you can try, and how to use it in your meal prep.
Keto Pizza Burger
If you have ever made keto hamburgers before, then you already know the basic process. You take the ground beef, season it, and form it into burger patties.
The process is the same for the pizza burgers. The biggest difference is in how you top the burgers.
To make it taste like a pizza, I added low-carb pizza sauce. You can always make your own by seasoning some tomato paste with garlic, basil, oregano, onion powder, and parsley or buy some!
Rao’s Homemade is my favorite brand of low-carb pizza sauce.You can make the pizza burger in the air fryer, too!
Follow these steps for an air fryer cheeseburger. You can even add the pizza toppings to the foil packet and then add everything to your hamburger buns.
Best Keto Hamburger Buns
The secret to keeping the burgers low-carb is to use low-carb burger buns. My favorite brand is from Keto Culture.
They taste just like flour buns, but are well within your carb limits. You have other options too, if you don’t want to buy keto-friendly hamburger buns.
Use a lettuce wrap. Wrap a large leaf of Romaine lettuce around the burger and toppings or make some keto cloud bread. It might take two pieces of cloud bread to hold the burger and toppings, but it’s very low-carb.
Best Pizza Toppings
There are 7 grams net carbs in each burger. So, if you’re going to add sides to the table, make sure they are really low in carbs.
Serve these keto pizza burgers with your favorite low-carb sides. Keto guacamole deviled eggs are a cookout classic that everyone loves!

Burger Meal Prep
Yes, you can add the pizza burger to your weekly meal prep. It’s best if you store the burger separately from the toppings and the buns.
Keep the buns in their package. Store the cooked hamburger patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator and place the toppings in separate containers.
Keep them in the refrigerator for up to three days and then, reheat them in the microwave. Yum!

Ingredients
- Ground Beef
- Keto Hamburger Buns
- Low-Carb Pizza Sauce
- Onion Powder
- Garlic Powder
- Italian Seasoning
- Olive Oil
- Green Bell Pepper
- Red Onion
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Pepperoni
Directions
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, and saute the red onion and bell pepper until softened. Set aside.
Place the ground beef into a mixing bowl with 3 Tbsp of the pizza sauce, the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste. Knead the mixture until well combined.
Form the meat into two large patties, and place into a skillet over medium high heat.
Saute the burgers until done to your liking.
Top each burger with two slices of mozzarella cheese.
Place a burger patty onto the bottom of each bun.
Top the burger patties with some of the pizza sauce and slices of pepperoni.
Add some of the onions and peppers to the top of each burger.
Layer some sauce on the underside of the tops of the buns, and place the tops onto the burgers.
